1,000,000 Free online CLEP Prep Courses

Education portal offers free video courses to help students prepare for exams, that will earn them college credit. They have reached a million students in its first year of operation.

The portal is organized by selecting:

– course
with a comprehensive number of items in each of the four categories.

Each course offers sets of short video clips, transcriptions and assessment materials, which help participants for CollegeBoard College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exam needed to earning college credit and opting out of introductory courses.

Here are their activities:

1. Educating – One free course at a time

Building free, online courses that lead to real college credit, already accepted at over 2,900 colleges and universities in the United States.

Visual stimulation, engaging, multi-media experience made specifically for the web user, and courses built from the ground up, they is reimaging the e-learning.

Since their team consists of 50 world-class educators, video editors, and animators, they all work in creating fun and engaging 10-minute video lessons that make up each course.

Their future courses will cover all the material that are taught in the first two years of college.

3. Providing financial support

They offer $10,000 a month to students who earn credit through the CLEP exam and eleven annual academic scholarships.

4. Support to public universities
They have created the library at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, California as a state-of-the-art computer lab. They helping public universities provide world-class education at affordable prices.

5. Social awareness campaigns

Being committed to fight poverty with education, they have partnered with the The Riecken Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to building sustainable libraries in rural Central America.

They have donated $30,000 to directly support Riecken’s 64 libraries and have pledged an additional $30,000 to be donated over the next two years.
